Dovre 540W 6.5kW Classic Freestanding Wood Burning Stove | High-Efficiency Cast Iron Heater

Introducing the revered Dovre 540W, a premium 6.5kW freestanding wood burning stove that forms part of Dovre’s distinguished Classic series. Smaller in scale than its renowned siblings (the 640 and 760 models), the 540W still packs the powerful performance and superior heating technology for which Norwegian engineering is famous. With its handsome cast iron construction, generous viewing window, and highly efficient closed combustion system, this classic stove perfectly complements both traditional and contemporary interiors, making it a reliable cornerstone of your home heating strategy.

Optimized Performance and Clean Combustion (6.5kW Output)

The Dovre 540W delivers a robust nominal heat output of 6.5kW, and it can reach a substantial maximum of 8.5kW. Consequently, this mid-range output makes it perfectly suited to heat average-sized rooms efficiently, covering areas up to approximately 52-90m². Furthermore, the stove achieves a remarkable energy efficiency rating of up to 82-83%. Since it uses advanced Cleanburn technology, you maximize heat yield from every log while significantly minimizing emissions, which contributes to an environmentally friendlier burning process.

Advanced Mono-Control and Air Supply

• Single Air Control: The design simplifies operation using a single, intuitive mono-control mechanism. This single lever allows you to precisely manage the primary and secondary airflow, giving you total command over the burn rate and fire intensity.
• Direct Outside Air Connection (DACS): The 540W includes a connection for direct outside air intake. This crucial feature allows the stove to draw combustion air directly from the external environment, preserving indoor air quality and ensuring consistent, safe operation in modern, highly insulated, or passive homes where air tightness is paramount.

Durable Construction & Seamless Operation

Premium Cast Iron Build and Cleanburn

Dovre crafts this appliance entirely from premium-grade cast iron. Cast iron is the ideal material for wood stoves; it absorbs and radiates heat evenly and gently for hours, even after the fire has diminished. In addition, the combustion chamber is lined with high-quality refractories, which insulates the body and ensures high burn temperatures—a necessary condition for the stove’s double combustion (Cleanburn) system. The smaller chamber, however, means it does not feature a side loading door, maintaining a compact footprint.

Crystal-Clear View with Airwash System

To ensure you enjoy the beautiful flame view, the Dovre 540W incorporates an excellent Airwash system. This technology directs a steady stream of pre-heated air down the inner surface of the large glass door. Thus, the air stream actively prevents the buildup of soot and residues, keeping your viewing window crystal clear for maximum enjoyment.
