About us

about Fireplace City Team

Thank you for wanting find out more about us. We are a family-owned business with a rich history dating back to 1995. Wrex Trollope established Braais and Fireplace Centre on Durban Road in Bellville. We specializing in open fireplaces and built-in braais.

Wrex quickly gained a reputation for his bold marketing. He light a fire in a fireplace outside the shop every morning at 6am.

Wrex founded INFERNO MARKETING cc and relocated to a larger showroom known as ‘the little yellow house on the corner’. Back then we traded under the name Falcon Fires. A second Falcon Fires showroom in Tableview was opened. This store was managed by Wrex’s eldest daughter Samantha.

Because of our unwavering commitment to service excellence. Falcon Fires became the leading supplier of open fireplaces and braais in the Western Cape. In 2004 we expanded into the closed system fireplace market with the Morso brand. We quickly becoming the primary agent in the Western Cape. Because of this our product range also grew to include other renowned European fireplace brands all imported by our sister company established in 2001.

In 2011, Fireplace City opened a larger showroom at the Bridge Centre, 304 Durban Road, Bellville. Because of this we have expanded three times and now have a dedicated warehouse team ensuring customer satisfaction and reliable after-sales support. In 2015, we established our flue manufacturing facility.

With 50 combined years of experience and expertise, Fireplace City is led by Wrex (owner extraordinaire), Vaughn (resident technical expert), and Justine (joining the showroom in 2017 after ten years managing warehouse logistics). We proudly offer an extensive range of most imported products available throughout South Africa.

At the end of 2024 we moved our Showroom to Unit 1, 10 Dwyka Road, Stikland, Bellville to put our pipe making workshop, accounts, logistics, technical and sales teams together so that we can better serve our clients.

Our motto remains unchanged: ‘We offer the kind of service that others find too much trouble.’ Contact Fireplace City for more information.”
